Warehouse Floor Coating Is Built Heavier In The Lanes
Forklift lanes, dock plates and turning corners wear much faster than the slab under a rack. We build the warehouse floor coating thicker in those busy zones and lighter where the floor only sees people walking.
That way you are not paying for a heavy build across every square foot. The estimate breaks the building into zones and names the system for each one.
Warehouse Floor Coating And Painted Walkways
WorkSafeBC's regulation says designated walking routes must be clearly marked, and floor lines are the plainest way to do it. We paint walkways, forklift lanes, stop bars and rack lines as part of the warehouse floor coating, so the lines are sealed under the clear coat rather than wearing off the top.
Warehouse Floor Coating In A New Building
The easiest time to coat a warehouse floor is before the racking goes in. New concrete needs time to cure and dry, and we test it before any coating. If the building is already full, we work zone by zone, on nights or weekends, so shipping carries on.
Saw cut joints in a busy warehouse often chip along their edges. We rebuild them with semi-rigid joint filler before coating, and our concrete floor repair page covers that work.
Cold Storage And Loading Docks
Loading docks let in cold air and snow every time a door opens, and cold rooms stay chilly all year. For those areas we use a warehouse floor coating that sets in low temperatures and add grit near the doors, where forklift tires bring in meltwater.
Keeping Dust Off Stock And Racking
Bare concrete sheds a fine powder every time a forklift turns, and that powder settles on stock, packaging and shelving. A warehouse floor coating seals the surface for good, so the sweeper only picks up what falls off the pallets.
The sealed floor also throws light back up into the aisles. Light grey is the usual pick, because it brightens the space without showing every tire mark, and on tall racking that extra light makes top-shelf labels easier to read. Over the years, a warehouse floor coating also stops the slow wear that grooves the busiest aisles.
